Our Mission

Climate Corps Bay Area is a 10-month AmeriCorps National Service program that assists local governments and non-profits in climate change mitigation.  Along with receiving  professional development opportunities our Members:
  • Assist with implementing programs that have immediate and measurable reductions in the community’s greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Measure, track, and report the emission reductions to community agencies.
  • Recruit, engage and build long-term volunteer involvement in the process.
Members participate in a comprehensive training program that gives an overview in the types of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions assessments and reductions that cities and counties must undertake in accordance with AB32, the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006.
